5 in a day

This last post is especially short on content. I just wanted to link to James Jordan's thoughts on Answer 4 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism. (Scroll all of the way down to the section with the heading "What is God?")

Thanks to Alastair for pointing this out a while ago.

I really like James Jordan. Reading his work has helped open my eyes to amazing things in the Bible, simply because he pointed out that all the details matter.

Ditto.

Jordan's writings (and audio lectures) have been an immeasurable boon to me in the process of "developing a biblical view of the world."

I'd recommend signing up for the Biblical Horizons newsletter if you don't already get it. Receiving the newsletter in the mail is one of the highlights of my month every month.
I think that all that you have to do to get placed on the list is buy something from the BH catalogue.

WordMp3 has begun digitizing all of Jordan's lectures that were previously only available on tape through BH. Many of the lectures are on sale right now as well.
Besides being wildly informative, istening to James Jordan is fun because a lot more of his humor stands out that isn't quite as obvious in writing.

On a more personal note, I've enjoyed looking over your blog.

Construction of an RPG world, a reference to Cthulhu, controversy over certain small words, and a fantastic John Newton quote.

Good stuff.

If Peoria, Illinois wasn't quite so far away, I'd invite you over for a pint of Calvinus to be enjoyed over a rowdy round of German board game playing.

Plus he loves Gene Wolfe. Funny thing. Probably the first thing of Jordan's that I read was his extended interview with Wolfe. Good stuff.

Oh, BTW, thank you for your comments about my blog. :-)

P.S. You're attending school in Buffalo, right? I used to live in Erie, and I once attended a gaming convention at SUNY Buffalo. So, in some odd way, we are closer than it might look.

Seth,
Yup, we're in Buffalo, but don't intend to be lifers. I'm originally from Long Island, and I would attend I-CON every year, though I never did any gaming there (unless you count a puzzle fighter tournament).

I love the Jordan/Wolfe interview. I would jump through many a loop to obtain an audio copy of the interview.

Scott,
I was actually thinking of you when I posted this and the few posts surrounding it. I know you've got to be getting sick of my comics posts. :)_

Matt,

Thanks for pointing it out. It was almost certainly removed when I was tinkering with my template. I'll fix it tonight.
